Ladycats continue to roll

The Whitehouse Ladycats continued to roll through the second half of district play with wins last week over Nacogdoches and Jacksonville.

Tuesday's match-up found the Ladycats at home against the Lady Dragons who were out for revenge after losing to Whitehouse at home in round one of district play.

The Ladycats had a balanced offensive attack on the night beating the Lady Dragons 25-13, 25- 18, and 25-22.

Stephanie Alexander led the way for the Ladycats with 15 points, including 4 kills, while Katy Kidwell led the Ladycats in kills in the match with 11.

Other leading scorers for the night were Jordan Knight (11 points, 7 kills and 9 digs), Sadie Hilburn (10 points, 5 kills), Christine Ford (14 points, 9 kills, 13 assists), and Joanna Blake (14 points, 16 assists).

Last Friday found the Ladycats on the road to Jacksonville where Ford would lead the way with 8 kills in a 25-13, 25-7, 25-13 win.

Hilburn and Knight each recorded 9 digs while Knight cranked out 5 service aces. Blake ran the offensive attack with 16 assists and 16 points while Kidwell had 15 points and 7 kills.

The victories moved the Ladycats season record to 19- 9 and 9-1 in district play as they hold on to second place in the district one game back of Hallsville.

The Whitehouse JV defeated Nacogdoches 25-14, 25-9 and Jacksonville 25-6, 25- 14.

The freshman Ladycats lost a close match to Nacogdoches 25-15, 23-25, 26-28 while bouncing back to beat Jacksonville 25-20, 25-13.

The Ladycats will host the Lady Pirates tomorrow with varsity beginning at 4:30 p.m.
