The junior high Ladycats were in action last Monday at C.L. Nix gym as they hosted Nacogdoches McMichael.

The eighth grade B team won 25-15 and 25-9, with Chelsea Garrett earning player of the week honors. The A team picked up the win with scores of 25-12 and 25-14. The night proved to be much shorter for the Lady Patriots as compared to their bus drive back home.

The "B" team began the evening with a tough match and had to keep up their guard as they fought long and hard and took game one 27-25 in overtime.

The Ladycats jumped out to an early 8-1 lead in game two, but the Lady Patriots attempted to fight their way back. However, they were unable to match the intensity of Whitehouse down the stretch.

The Ladycats took game two 25-22 to improve their season record to 6-1 and 4-1 in district play.

JaAndrea Williams led in scor- ing for the Ladycats with 14 points including 5 aces while Sierra Kennedy had 8 points and 3 aces, and Taylor Allen posted 5 points for the match.

The "A" team took both of their games by scores of 25-19 and 25-22 to make it a clean sweep for Whitehouse on the night.

Game two of their match proved to be a nail biter as both teams exchanged points until Rachel Garlitz came up on her ser vice rotation with the Ladycats trailing 11-14.

Garlitz, who recorded 20 service points and 6 aces on the night to lead Whitehouse, got on a roll to 19-14 in favor of Whitehouse to give them the lead they needed on their way to the win.

Other leading scorers for the Ladycats were Madison Melrose with 4 points and Shelby Galloway with 4 points. The "A" team bumped their record to 4-3 for the year and 3- 2 in district.

"I am proud of these girls. Both teams were strong and mentally into the games. The hard work in practice really showed tonight, and we look forward to the challenge of competing with Marshall next week," said Coach Shari Knight after the game.
