Cross country teams place in Jacksonville
Girls take third, boys earn fourth

The Whitehouse High School cross country teams participated in the "Run for the Heck of It" meet at Jacksonville High School Friday, Oct. 5. The boys team placed fourth and the girls third.
Medalists for the boys team included Timothy Priest, fifth, with a time of 18:23, and Jordan Scott, 15th, with a time of 19:16. Other boys participating were Adam Lindenmuth, 20th, 19:45; Travis Tincher, 23rd, 20:04, Kevin Kapka, 45th, 24:27; and Ricardo Medina, 47th.
The girls team had three girls to medal: Brittney Wilkens, fourth, 15:19; Danielle Nelson, eighth, 15:42; and Whitney Rankin, 15th, 16:38. Others participating were Judith Clark, 19th, 17:10; Alex Barnes, 24th, 17:57; and Kami Cook who was unable to finish due to an injury.
Several members of the WHS boys soccer team participated in the JV race. Solomon Ortiz placed first with a time of 19:25 and Cameron Cooper, 11th, 20:50.
The next cross country meet will be Saturday, Oct. 13 at Hallsville.
