First reading workshop on tap tonight at Brown
Classes to help parents help children

Brown Elementary will be hosting reading workshops for parents two nights in October.

Parents often ask: What can I do to help my child understand what he reads? and What can I do to help my child become a more fluent reader? Teachers will give parents information on what they can do at home with their child to help improve comprehension and fluency.

Parents will also learn the reading level for the beginning of second grade and the reading level at the end of second grade.

Meetings will be from 6:30-7 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The following teachers will present on Thursday, Oct. 18: Reynolds, Tucker, Craft, C. Phillips, Schumann, Buffington, Turner, Wilson.

The following teachers will present on Tuesday, Oct. 23: Dintelman, Herring, Hamilton, Milam, Hamons, Thomas, S. Phillips, Reaves.
