Tom and Loraine Gilbreath of Tyler announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Gilbreath of Whitehouse, to Jeffrey Barker, son of Laurie Barker and Stephen Barker, both of Whitehouse. The couple will marry Oct. 27, 2007 at Castle on the Lake in Jacksonville. The bride-elect graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 1997 and attended Texas A&M and Bel-Rea School of Veterinary Technology. She is employed with TAGCO Construction. The bridegroom graduated from Grovesbeck High School in 1994 and attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor and McLennan Community College. He is employed with East Texas Medical Center CVICU.
