Ladycats look ahead to Bobcats

The Whitehouse Ladycats continued to roll through district play last week as they won a tough five-game match on the road at Marshall before coming home last Friday to defeat Pine Tree.
Stephanie Alexander lead the way with 24 points and 8 kills last Tuesday in Marshall as the Ladycats battled an inspired Marshall team finally winning in five games 25-23, 25-22, 15-25, 21-25, and 15- 12.
Christine Ford contributed 18 points and 8 kills while dishing out 22 assists, while her fellow setter, Joanna Blake, provided 14 points and 20 assists.
Jordan Knight poured in 19 points and 9 kills, Katy Kidwell contributed 11 points and 9 kills and Sadie Hilburn also had 15 points and 9 kills for the Ladycats.
In Friday's match against longtime rival Pine Tree, the Ladycats got big performances from Hilburn and Knight to pull out the three game sweep over the Lady Pirates 25-19, 29-27, and 25-13.
The second game of the match provided most of the excitement as the Ladycats came from behind at 16-23 to go up 25-24 before Kidwell served the final three points to give the game to Whitehouse 29-27.
The comeback was sparked by Hilburn and Knight from the service line and the two provided 15 and 18 points, respectively, for the match. Kidwell led the way in kills with 10 and also had 7 blocks while Blake and Ford had 17 and 16 assists, respectively.
The Ladycats battled Henderson on Tuesday and will have the long awaited rematch this Friday with Hallsville who is undefeated and gave Whitehouse its only district loss. The Hallsville match will start tomorrow at 4:30 in Wildcat Arena and promises to be an exciting finish to district play.
