WISD ready for input on attendance zones
Public forum scheduled Oct. 29 at Holloway

This graphic contains total capacity numbers as well as projection figures four years out. Also charted is a percentage estimate of the lower socio-economic student population at that school.
Construction on a new elementary school for Whitehouse ISD continues, as does the decision-making for attendance zones for that school and the other campuses that will house early education through fifth grade.

A citizen committee, compiled of 25 WISD residents, was formed in September and began the task of narrowing down the choices of how the attendance zones would be lined out.

Those serving are Polly Chennault, Danny Burris, Amy Drott, Doug Dudley, Cory Gerdes, Lori Godwin, Jason Grigsby, Denyse Hearon, Steve Kee, Bud Lilly, John Love, Tom Moore and Kizzie Neal. Also, Irak Ordorica, Andrea Ranjbar, Pete Reese, Larry Reeves, Nelda Regian, Betsy Rountree, Larry Seigler, Waymon Stewart, Kay Taylor, Craig Tidwell, Keidric Trimble and Wade Weathers.

Dr. Stacey Tepera, a professional demographer from Population and Survey Analysts, has led the group as they met, using the mounds of data gathered by the analysis consultant.

The work of this committee is ready for presentation to the WISD community for input. A public forum will be held Monday, Oct. 29 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Holloway Middle School cafetorium located at 701 E. Main. The public is asked to attend and view the option and hear the information to be presented.
