WILDCAT BAND RECEIVES SUPERIOR RATING
Distinction earned for 17th consecutive year

The Whitehouse High School "Wildcat" Band participated in the Region 21 University Interscholastic League Marching Contest on Oct. 20 and was awarded a "Superior Rating" for the 17th consecutive year.

The contest was held in Nacogdoches at Stephen F. Austin University Stadium .

Some of the judges comments were: "Wow, what a wonderful sound!, Great Drill and excellent marching fundamentals. You have obviously prepared for contest, this band does so many things well."

The band was led on the field by Drum Majors Chelsey Emmons, Kathleen Carpio and Blayne Ballard.

They performed their signature Fanfare, Triumph, Boys of the Old Brigade March, Them Basses and Chicago World's Fair March.

The band is directed by Denny Whitley, Jim Clifton, Beth Clifton, Jerry Gober and Joe Hewitt.
