Ladycats sweep Hallsville for district championship

Whitehouse definitely had the last laugh in its district rivalry with Hallsville.

After avenging its only conference loss to the Bobcats on Friday, the Ladycats swept their opponents Tuesday night in a playoff game at Kilgore to determine the district championship.

Whitehouse won 25-20, 25- 19 and 25-23 to claim top seed in District 12-4A and a bye in the first round of playoffs. The Ladycats will play the winner of today's match between Frisco Centennial and Mesquite Poteet in the round of area.

At press time, the time, date and location were not available.

Hallsville will play Lindale in bi-district at 7 p.m. Thursday at Tyler Junior College's Wagstaff Gymnasium.

The Ladycats were paced by several top-notch perfor- mances, including Stephanie Alexander with 7 kills, 12 points and a ser vice ace; Jordan Knight (10 digs, 10 kills, block, 13 points, three aces), Sadie Hilburn (nine digs, two assists, two kills, 13 points, three aces), Christine Ford (10 kills, six digs, 13 assists, 14 points), Katy Kidwell (six digs, assist, four kills, four blocks, 12 points) and Joanna Blake (two digs, 14 assists, three kills, 11 points, ace).
