Whitehouse JV blanks Bobcats, 28-0

The Whitehouse JV looked dominating last week as they posted a 28-0 lead at the half and then cruised to a 35-0 victory over the Bobcats in Hallsville.

The Wildcat's offense rolled often and early as RB Kevin Hickman picked up yards on the ground in the first drive of the night moving the ball deep into Bobcat territory. However, Whitehouse saw this drive stall at the Hallsville 14.

The defense hit the Bobcats hard and forced a punt, and Jaime Antu found a clear path to the punter for the block. Whitehouse recovered at the Bobcat 16.

After Hickman rushed to the eight, QB Preston Conder hit Antu for an 8-yard TD, and Julio Aleman's PAT gave Whitehouse an early 7-0 lead.

The Wildcat defense struck next as Reggie Wright picked off an errant Hallsville pass on the ensuing possession and then Conder hit Logan Taylor on a pass to the Bobcat two.

Hickman got the call on the next play and scored on the four-yard option play to move the lead to 14-0 right before the end of the first quarter.

Another big special teams play came next as Whitehouse forced the Bobcats to punt, and this time Taylor got the block, and the Wildcats took over in good field position.

The drive was highlighted by a fourth down pass to Garrett Ehrman, but the Cats fumbled the ball over on the Hallsville 12.

Hallsville then returned the favor with a bad snap over the QB's head, which led to Taylor recovering the fumble and stepping in the end zone for the score to extend the lead to 21-0.

Hallsville continued to crack under the Whitehouse defense and fumbled on its next possession, and then Conder hit Ehrman for a 40-yard strike and a 28-0 lead into the half.

The Wildcats continued to dominate play in the second half, and Conder hit Aleman on a 17-yard pass for the final score and a 35-0 Wildcat victory.

The win moves the JV's record to 2-1 in district play headed into a home game tonight against Henderson with game time to start around 7:30 after the freshman games.
