Seventh grade travels to Pine Tree The Whitehouse 7th grade traveled to Pine Tree last Tuesday to do battle with the Pirates. The "C" team and the "B" team did not fair very well as both teams lost to the Pirates by the score of 12-0. The "A" team revenged a loss the week before to the Pirates winning in an exciting final quarter 28-20. After Pine Tree took a 6-0 lead, Whitehouse tied the game on a 27-yard TD pass from QB Reid Hiler to Dylan Cantrell at 6-6 headed into the fourth quarter. Pine Tree started the quar- ter by regaining the lead 14-6. The Wildcats came right back and tied things up on their next possession on a 43-yard pass from QB Will Weathers to Cantrell. The two then hooked up again for the two-point conversion, and things were knotted up at 14 all with 3:46 left in the game. The Pirates jumped back on top 20-14 on a 60-yard run with 3:30 remaining. Then, Whitehouse struck again with a 31-yard run by Cantrell setting up a TD pass from Weathers to Michael Nuon. The important two-point conversion was good on a pass from Weathers to Cantrell. Whitehouse got a break on the ensuing possession as Cantrell recovered a Pirate fumble, and then Cantrell caught a 31-yard strike from Weathers to secure the victory at 28-20. The 7th grade teams will play host to Marshall on Tuesday of next week with the "B" game beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the "A" team immediately following at approximately 7 p.m. |
