Linnie M. "Sis" Franklin
Mrs. Franklin died Oct. 22, 2007 at her residence. She was born Oct. 15, 1918 in Troup and attended E-Bell school. She was a lifelong resident of Smith County, a caregiver and a member of Liberty Troup Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, was past president of Missions, mother of the church, and organizer of Federation. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin; three sons; three sisters; and three brothers. Survivors include sons, James E. Franklin and Ricky Franklin, both of Arp, Paul Franklin, Whitehouse, and Jacky Franklin, Troup; daughters, Verlene Ford, Dallas, Mary Jackson, Palo Alto, Calif., Nellie Taylor, Jacksonville, and Waldean Hammonds, Whitehouse; brothers, George H. Stoglin, Dallas, and Willie J. Stoglin, Tyler; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Dwight Stoglin, A.C. Stoglin Jr., Paul Jackson Jr., William T. Franklin, Anthony Ford Jr. and Terry Stoglin. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Liberty Troup and New Hope Conglee Baptist Churches. |
