Velma Woods Andrews

Services for Velma Woods Andrews, 86, of Troup were held Oct. 27 at Liberty Baptist Church, Troup, with the Revs. Dewayne Mcallister Sr. and Elmer Kelly officiating.

Burial was in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home, Henderson.

Mrs. Andrews died Oct. 21, 2007 in a Whitehouse nursing home.

She was born Feb. 19, 1921 in New Hope community and attended Kilgore public schools. She retired as a dental assistant and lived in Houston prior to retiring and moving back to East Texas in 1979. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Woods.

Survivors include her husband, Courtney Andrews; daughters, Erma Taylor, Tyler, and Sharon Andrews, Houston; sister, Ruby Woods; two grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
