Paul Eugene Smith

Private memorial services for Paul Eugene Smith, 79, of Tyler will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under direction of Hilliard Funeral Home, Van.

Mr. Smith died Oct. 24, 2007 in Tyler. He was born Nov. 29, 1927 in Hamlin, W.Va. He served in the Army and Air Force and was a mailman for the Postal Service. He lived in California prior to moving to Tyler 15 years ago.

He was preceded in death by son, Robert Edward, two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Smith, Tyler; children, Alan Smith, Georgia, and Paula Porter, Troup; sisters, Betty and Patty, both of Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren.
