Mary White Shipley Smith

Memorial services for Mary "Merry" "Mamacita" White Shipley Smith, 85, of Tyler were held Oct. 29 at Lanes Chapel United Methodist Church with Bro. Lou Gary Thomas officiating. Arrangements were under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home, Tyler.

Mrs. Smith died Oct. 26, 2007 in a Tyler hospital.

She was born Jan. 3, 1922 in Augusta, Ga., to the late Samuel and Ruby Williams. She was an executive secretary for Mobil Oil Corp. and other oil companies in Texas.

Survivors include her husband, W.W. "Bill" Smith, Tyler; sons, Bill Shipley, Tyler, Jim Shipley, Whitehouse, Jim Smith, Murphy, and Jerry Smith, Humble; daughter, Madalyn Sherman, Euless; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
