Theater department to present 'Pajama Game'

Cast members of "The Pajama Game" rehearse for the upcoming WHS production.
Whitehouse High School Theatre will present the popular musical comedy "The Pajama Game" on Nov. 8, 10 and 13 at the WHS auditorium.

Showtime is 7 p.m. for all performances; admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and $1 for children.

Employees of the Sleeptite Pajama Factory are looking for a whopping seven-and-a-half cent an hour increase and they won't take no for an answer. Babe Williams is their feisty employee representative but she may have found her match in shop superintendent Sid Sorokin. When the two get together they wind up discussing a whole lot more than job actions!

Popular musical numbers from the show include "Hernando's Hideaway," "Steam Heat," "There Once Was a Man" and the ballad "Hey There." The original production opened on Broadway in 1954, followed by the film version starring Doris Day in 1957. Singer Harry Connick Jr. starred in the most recent revival in 2006.
