WH dominates Lady Panthers

A bit of any unusual matchup in junior high volleyball took place at C.L. Nix Gym at Whitehouse Junior High on Monday, Oct. 22. The match up pitted both Ladycat seventh and eighth grade "A" teams against the 5A Lufkin Lady Panthers.

The seventh grade "A" team began the night with a twogame sweep of Lufkin, 25-12 and 25-16. Top players in earned service points were Cindy Scott with 9, Angela Knight 7, Torrie Maae and Kelsea Lea both with 6 each and Anna Hayden with 5 service points.

The eighth grade "A" team pulled out another two-game sweep over the Lady Panthers, 25-17 and 25-23.

High earners in ser vice points in this match were Kenzie Patterson with 10 and Madison Melrose 7. Finishing with 4 points each were Michele Stewart, Erica Jordan and Kayla Farley.

The final matches of the season were held on Oct. 29. The junior high coaches took five teams to Pine Tree to compete against the Lady Pirates. The final story about this year's junior high Ladycat teams will appear next week.
