Lions down eighth-graders

The Whitehouse eighth grade teams traveled to Henderson last week to take on the Lions and came out on the bad end of two lopsided victories with the "B" team losing 35- 0 and the "A" team falling 46-6.

In the "B" game, the defense had some bright spots despite being on the wrong end of the score.

Tanner Partain had six tackles on the night, and Dylan Koster had four tackles along with Dale Griffin who had three tackles.

In the "A" game, the Lions jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter as Logan Liptak was in on several tackles.

QB AJ Minter hit Gunnar Dorsey for a TD connection, but the play was called back for an illegal formation call on the Wildcats.

In the second quarter, Minter hit Nick House and Ross Viergever for some big gains, but the Wildcats could not find the end zone, and Henderson built a 22-0 lead.

Late in the second quarter, the Wildcats had their only score of the night as QB Hunter Taylor connected with House for a 15-yard score, but the Lions went on to post the 46-6 final.

The Wildcats travel to Marshall tonight to take on the Mavericks with game time for the "B" game at 5 p.m. and the "A" game immediately to follow.
