Whitehouse defensive stand holds off Mavs
      After winning close games at home over Pine Tree and Hallsville, the Whitehouse Wildcats were faced with the daunting task of sweeping their last three games over Henderson and Marshall on the road and then over Nacogdoches at home.

Troup outruns Timpson, 40-27
      Troup rebounded from last week's big loss to Elysian Fields to post an impressive win over Timpson on the road. Quarterback Ryan Nichols led the Tigers to the 40-27 victory, earning a spot on the East Texas Honor Roll with a 170-yard passing performance.

Freshman teams defeat Marshall; close out season tonight in Nac
      The Whitehouse freshman teams were in action last Thursday night as they played host to the Marshall Mavericks. In the "B" game, the Wildcats provided a come-frombehind win in the second half on a 21-yard TD pass from Brendon Hedges to Zach Kennedy to give the Cats a 12-8 victory.

      Facing off against the Tatum Eagle ninth grade, the Troup junior varsity lost a close game, 21-12. Tatum broke some big plays against Troup, including one late in the game to pull away and secure the victory. For the Tigers, Jacob Moody handled both scores on touchdown runs.

Whitehouse sets sights on state championship
      The 2007-2008 Whitehouse boys basketball season opens its season Nov. 13 on the road against class AAAAA Irving MacArthur at 7 p.m. The Wildcats schedule this year has a 5-A flair to it as Whitehouse hosts Longview on Nov. 20, followed by a matched game with Dallas Skyline at UTTyler on Nov. 23.

WH cross country team posts personal best scores at regional
      Whitehouse cross country team posted a series of personal bests at regional meet. Timothy Priest, the sole boy running for Whitehouse, ran a time of 18:17.70, placing 125. The top-ranking female runner for Whitehouse, Brittany Wilkens finished in a time of 13:08.40 placing 48.
