Couple to celebrate golden anniversary

Morris and Ann Cates of Tyler will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 15.

The Cates, who met at Tyler Bank in Trust and had their first date at El Charro's, married Nov. 15, 1957 at the First Baptist Church in Edom.

Mr. Cates is the owner of East Texas Brick in Tyler and Cates Caststone in Whitehouse. Mrs. Cates is a homemaker.

Their children are Jeff Cates and wife Sharon of Tyler, Suzanne Kunzman and husband Eric of Whitehouse and Cory Cates and wife Tammy of Lindale.

The Cates' grandchildren are Kim Clinton, David and Daniel Bowman, Logan and Cameron Cates, Madison, Brycen and Emmi Cates and Nick and Chris Kunzman.

Their great-granddaughter is Jaiden Clinton. Family and friends will celebrate the anniversary with a reception for the couple at Holly Tree Country Club.
