Clara Bell Ginn Westfall
A celebration of the life of Clara Bell Ginn Westfall, 85, of Tyler was held Nov. 13 at Marvin United Methodist Church with Dr. Doug Baker and Rev. Nona Taylor officiating. Burial was at Bascom Cemetery under direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Westfall went to be with her Lord and Savior on Nov. 10, 2007. She was born May 31, 1922, in Tyler, where she has been a lifelong resident, to the late Charles Roland Ginn and Martha Frances Thompson. Clara graduated from Tyler High School in 1938 and received her associate's degree from Tyler Junior College in 1940. She met her husband, Willard Eugene "Gene" Westfall, at Camp Fannin and they were married in December 1944. They were happily married for 54 years before he passed away in 1998.

Clara retired as a vice president from Citizen's First National Bank in 1987 after 47 years of service. She was very active at Marvin United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Susannah Wesley Sunday School Class and most recently the Friendly Bible Class. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Susie Horton, Opal Leanard, Ora Lee Remer and Vernell Uhling.

Survivors include her two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen E. and Janet Westfall of Naperville, Ill., and David C. Westfall of Middletown, Conn.; a grandson, David M. Westfall of Naperville, Ill.; nieces, Martha Ann Tatum of Whitehouse and Sandra Rathbun of Fort Smith, Ark.; nephews, Larry Leanard of Houston, Mark Uhling of Villa Hills, Ky., and Garry Uhling of Atlanta, Ga.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
