Tiger 8th-graders win district, 7th-graders end with victory

The Troup Tigers eighth grade football team sealed a district championship with a 36-18 win over Garrison last Thursday. This was a big accomplishment for the players, who were winless as seventh graders.

Offensively, the team was led by quarterback Carson Clark, James Jiles, Dillon Goar and Kirby Lyon.

Lyon also snagged two interceptions to lead the Tiger defense.

The seventh grade Tigers football team ended its year with a big 28-6 win over Garrison last Thursday.

Seth Gibson ran for two touchdowns, while Wesley Thompson caught two TD passes from quarterback Hunter Clark.

Defensively, the team as led by Thompson and Bradley Stewart.
