Troup, Whitehouse food drives continue The temperatures may still be warm outside, but the spirit of the Christmas season is already filling the hearts of people in Troup and Whitehouse as work begins on Troup Cares and Project Joy. Both groups join forces with schools, churches, businesses and the community to collect food, toys and money to provide a healthy and happy holiday season for the less fortunate in their communities. Brookshire Grocery Company does their part through the donation of a roasting hen to each family the groups provide for. Volunteers from all walks of life come together and sort and distribute the food and gifts as Christmas draws near. To make this a record breaking year, Troup Cares and Project Joy need everyone to contribute what they can, where they can. For more information on you can help with Project Joy contact Ray Baldwin at 903-352- 0039 and with Troup Cares contact Mike Cline 903-842-3320. |
