Jacobson releases statement Editor's note: Whitehouse Mayor Jake Jacobson brought this statement to the Tri County Leader offices Tuesday. "As the Mayor of Whitehouse, I have a statement I would like to make to the citizens of Whitehouse in hopes the city can move forward to the more pressing and signifi cant issues in our city. "I have served the City of Whitehouse for over 12 years and have always been an active and positive force. I feel my pending divorce, which was final on Nov. 13, 2007 should remain a private matter. During my situation, the difficult rental market inside the city limits made it extremely hard to secure a place for my residence and my business. My intent is to use the existing property for my business. At this time, there are two similar properties in Whitehouse which people reside and the properties have similar business use zoning. I feel consistent enforcement should be paramount. I will continue to seek other living arrangements in an effort to correct a potential problem. "I hope and pray this clarifies this situation and allows our city leaders and community to focus on our more important issues. "Our existing water situation and its potential short comings should be of the utmost importance to the citizens of Whitehouse. "I thank all who have expressed their support and ask all the citizens of Whitehouse to put their energy into helping solve the major issues in our fine city." Sincerely, Mayor Jake Jacobson |
