WH library hosting hayride

The Whitehouse Community Library is preparing for its fourth annual Hayride with Santa event, scheduled Saturday, Dec. 15.

The evening will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a story read by librar y director Sandra Knackstedt. Next, a few practice tunes will be sung before the hayride begins.

From the library, participants will travel to Oakbrook Health Care Center to help Santa and his elves hand out candy and books to the residents.

The hayride concludes with a return trip to the library, where cookies, hot chocolate and cider will be waiting.

Children will then have the chance for a one-on-one visit with Santa to share their Christmas wishes. Pictures will be available for a small fee.

Remember to bring blankets for the hayride. Space is limited so reservations are required. Drop by the library to fill out a reservation form, or call 903- 839-2949 with questions.
