Pecanwood lights a 'labor of love' Christmas lights and decorations make just about everyone smile, at least a little more. That is the goal of Norman and Vicky Wade at the Pecanwood Apartments in Whitehouse. The tradition of decorating the complex came from their last place in Louisiana. Mrs. Wade says the majority of the tenants there were elderly but you would have thought they were children when it came to the Christmas lights each year. "They would start coming to me in September, ready to put up the lights," Mrs. Wade said. "The display at Pecanwood is for the enjoyment of our residents and our community," said Mrs. Wade, adding how much joy the lights bring to the children in the complex and that they draw in lots of visitors who come just to get into the Christmas spirit. Mrs. Wade is the Pecanwood apartment manager, and she credits husband Norman with the hard work that goes into putting up the lights, adding that the tradition is a labor of love for the couple. |
