WJHS presents 'Seussical Jr.'

Many of Dr. Seuss' most beloved characters, including holiday favorite "The Grinch," were brought to life recently as Whitehouse Junior High School theater students presented Seussical Jr.

Covering 15 of Dr. Seuss' books, the musical featured the Cat in the Hat as emcee. The Cat introduces Jojo the Who to news places and people (all from Seuss books), with the audience going along for the ride.

"The characters learn the valuable lesson of helping a friend, not giving up and keeping a promise," said director Katie Jones. "But most of all, the show helps to make the imagination grow in children and adults."

Seussical Jr. features music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens.

Calling the show a great success, Jones the theater students are now working on their One Act Play for UIL competition.
