Marie O'Neal Waggoner
Mrs. Waggoner died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007 at her residence. She was born June 25, 1921, in Troup to the late Thomas Dolphus O'Neal and Jessie Ada Rucker O'Neal. Her grandparents, A.T. and Minnie Queen O'Neal and Tom and Fannie Rucker, were early pioneers in the Troup area. Mrs. Waggoner was employed by Gulf States Telephone as an operator in the Troup and Lindale offices during the1950s. Mrs. Waggoner was a Christian and a member of the Bible Baptist Church, Overton. In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angela Melton, and a husband, Clyde Waggoner. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Martha Melton, Troup; a brother, Lloyd O'Neal, Tyler; a sister, Dorothy Craft, Taylorsville, Miss.; four grandchildren, Leonard Melton, Scott Mitchell, Melanie Schilmoeller and Melissa Austin; six greatgrandchildren, Amanda Melton, Alexis Austin, Alleah Austin, Makenzie Schilmoeller, Madelyn Schilmoeller and Ava Mitchell; a great-great-granddaughter, Rinoa Turner; a nephew, Bob O'Neal; and three nieces, Molly O'Neal, Charlene Cannon, and Gwen Creel. Pallbearers were Leonard Melton, Marty Schilmoeller, Billy Alt, Bobby Neel, Bob O'Neal and Elmer Sadler. |
