Students from several Whitehouse ISD campuses showed their Christmas spirit recently by participating in Project Joy and Angel Tree shopping for those in need.
Whitehouse High School and Whitehouse Junior High School student council members picked up gifts to benefit Project Joy and were joined by director Ray Baldwin.
Students from Holloway drew eight names from the Angel Tree at Austin Bank and collected more than $2,000 to use to fulfill Christmas wish lists. A group of Holloway students did the shopping at Target on Dec. 6.
Elementary campuses also participated in the Project Joy drive by collecting canned food goods. Cathy Dintelman's class collected the most non-perishable items for Project Joy at Brown Elementary. They enjoyed getting to help load the items into the trucks to take to Philadelphia Blessing for distributtion to families during the holidays.
