Tigers fall to West Rusk, suffer losses in tournament

Troup came up short in its bid to get back in the win column, losing to West Rusk at home Tuesday 55-52.

Reginald Wade led the way with 30 points, followed by Zach Childress 6, and Der'Rick Thompson and Jake Johnson with 5 each.

The loss dropped the Tigers to 2-13 on the year following four defeats in the Sabine Tournament.

Mabank downed Troup in the opener, 85-43. Wade led with 14. Thompson added 11.

Wade poured in 27 points in the Tigers' 65-49 loss to Clarksville. Thompson again had 11.

Hawkins pulled away for a 59-46 win, despite 22 points from Wade. Thompson added 10 and Johnson 8.

Despite outscoring Winona in the second half, the Tigers couldn't recover from a sluggish second quarter.

Wade hit 23 in the 42-40 loss, while Thompson added 7 and Johnson 5.

The Tigers will be in the Dan Noll Classic in White Oak and will face the host Roughnecks at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 27.
