Troup Food Pantry collects cell phones Those looking for an easy way to make a holiday donation can benefit needy families with one simple act: turning in old cell phones. The phones are resold, with all proceeds benefiting the food pantry, which is located in the basement of Troup United Methodist Church, located at 202 E. Duval St. Collection boxes for used cell phones are located at the church's alley door entrance, in the foyer of the Troup Municipal Library, at the Troup Brookshire's, Troup Post Office and at the Wesley Foundation on the campus of Tyler Junior College. Phones do not have to be in working order and maybe donated with or without batteries. Do not include accessories, such as chargers. The Troup Food Pantry opened in February, 2007, and serves Troup and surrounding communities. For more information about the used cell phone collection program, call Al or LaDelle Tuley at 903-871-8529. |
