Joe Neilson Tucker

Services for Joe Neilson Tucker, 60, of Tyler were held Dec. 20 at the First United Methodist Church of Chandler with Dr. Stan Copeland officiating. Burial was in the Chandler Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler.

Joe passed away on Dec. 17, 2007 in Dallas, surrounded by loved ones after a very brief illness.

He was born on July 26, 1947 in Fort Worth to Everett and Lenetta Tucker. He grew up in Athens and graduated from Athens High School where he met his wife and lifelong companion.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy Tucker of Tyler; two sons and one daughter, Jeff and Amy Tucker of Dallas, Tim and Carolyn Tucker of Whitehouse, Leigh Ann and Scot Davis of Rockwall. Additional survivors include his four granddaughters, Emma, Meleah, Kate and Mallory who simply knew him as their "Josey."

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Grace. Pallbearers were Bob Langley, Don Morris, Randy Rainey, David Dickerson, Jeff Serber, Ray Jacobson and Steve Jacobson.
