First Ladies hold tryouts
      The Whitehouse High School First Ladies Drill Team tr youts for the 2008-2009 school year were held recently. The candidates learned a jazz routine and a kick routine in just three days from the 2008-2009 officers. They were judged on projection, appearance, flexibility, and execution of the routines by three independent judges from the East Texas area.

TEG attends Western and National Championship
      The Level 9 gymnasts from Texas East Gymnastics recently returned from St. Louis, Mo., and the Level 9 Western Championships. The Level 9 team from TEG is made up of Ciara Maradiaga, Erin Odom and Emily Rickman. Emily, the youngest on the team, faced the fiercest competition by being in the youngest age group.

WHS sets sports camps
      FOOTBALL The Whitehouse football coaches are proud to announce the dates for three summer camps. Each camp will provide instruction in the fundamentals of football, basic schemes of offense and defense, and offensive and defensive drills. There will also be competition for each position. The camp will be held at the Whitehouse High School Practice Fields.

     Several Ladycats have received honors in District 12-4, including Megan Brady, Co- MVP (offense); Emily Costlow, Pitcher of the Year; and Haylee Aldridge, Co-Utility Player of the Year. First team selections are Jordan Knight and Erica Fuller. Second team selections are Taylor Russell and Jesse Allen. Earning honorable mention are Cecily Petree, Cagen Medlock and Chelsey Boulware.
