Community Activities

Whitehouse Cemetery annual meeting

The annual meeting of the Whitehouse Cemetery Association is scheduled for Sunday, June 1 at 10:30 a.m. There will be a business meeting followed by a lunch under the large oak trees. All those interested are invited to come, bring your favorite dishes and join the celebration. Any donations for the cemetery can be sent to the association at P.O. Box 872, Whitehouse, TX 75791.

Knoxville Cemetery Memorial Day

The annual memorial service will be June 1 with worship service beginning at 11 a.m. Bro. John H. Cole Jr. will be the speaker. Following the service will be a short business meeting and covered dish lunch. Bring a lawn chair.

Union Grove Cemetery memorial services

The Union Grove Cemetery will hold their annual meeting on Sunday, June 1 at 10 a.m. followed by a speaker at 11 and covered dish luncheon at noon.

Outdoor warning system test

The City of Whitehouse tests the outdoor warning siren system the first Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m. Should there be inclement weather the testing will be postponed to the following month.

Dixie Masonic Lodge to meet

The Dixie Masonic Lodge #272 in Troup will meet Tuesday, June 3 at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall.

Troup American Legion to meet

Troup American Legion will meet Tuesday, June 3 at 6 p.m. at the legion hall.

Game Time for Seniors

Game Time for Senior Citizens will be Wednesday, June 3 from 1-3 p.m. at the Troup library. All senior citizens are welcome to attend.

Troup Sons of the Legion to meet

Troup Sons of the Legion will meet Thursday, June 5 at 6 p.m. at the legion hall.

Whitehouse library activities

Story time is every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Regular library hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday 11-4. Questions? Call the library at 903-839- 2949 or email at whitehouselibrary@hotmail.com.

WH Recycle Center

Regular hours of operation for the Whitehouse Recycle Center are on Wednesdays from 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. as well as the first and third Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Ave.

Women's health seminar offered

"Finding Balance" is a seminar on women's health issues begin offered free of charge on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. at Health Plus, 2010 Sybil Ln., Tyler. Facilitator is Brenda Flowers RN.

VFW Post 1799 open daily

VFW Post 1799 on Rhone Quarter Road opens daily at 2:30 p.m. for members and guests. Each day offers a different activity such as competitive pool, karaoke and social hour. For information visit WWW.vfw1799.org or call 903-561-3501.

Baptist Forerunners meet

The Forerunners will meet at the Troup First Baptist Church fellowship hall on Monday, June 2 for a noon covered dish luncheon. Betty Corcoran and Carolyn McCall will present "The Legacy of the Mayflower." Adults, come join us.

School Activities

WHS 20-year reunion set

Whitehouse High School Class of 1988 will celebrate their 20-year reunion on Saturday, July 12 at Eagles Bluff Country Club. Classmates should e-mail whs.1988@aacotechonline.com for more information.

WHS reunion

Government Activities

WH Town Hall meeting

Whitehouse citizens and property owners along FM 346 in the designated Town Center area are urged to attend a Town Hall type meeting Monday, June 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 311 E. Main. The purpose of this meeting is to gain information and offer constructive input to the plan, in process, of a design style for that area.

WISD trustees to meet

The Whitehouse ISD trustees will meet on Monday, June 2 at 7 p.m. in the Wildcat Drive Annex, 109 Wildcat Drive.
