Yoga class Monday

Yoga class meets each Monday at 7 p.m. in the youth wing of First Baptist Church of Whitehouse. There is no fee for the class. Bring your own yoga mat, towel and bottle of water. Class is 7-8 p.m. and there is no child care available at this time.

Game Night set

The Rose Capital Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America is having their "Game Night" on Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. It is being held at the Woman's Building, 911 S. Broadway in Tyler. Contact Shirley Lindsay at 903-894-9642 for information and reser vations.

TGHS August meeting

The Troup Genealogical Historical Society will meet Saturday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. in the Troup library. Ruth Stone Sheppard will be relating her memories of growing up in Red Oak Flat and Screech Owl Bend. Refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome to attend and bring a friend.

Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge meeting

Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge #1371 will meet Monday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall. All Masonic Brothers are welcome to attend.

Troup American Legion Auxiliary to meet

Troup American Legion Auxiliary will meet Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 6 p.m. at the Cameron J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library located at 102 S. Georgia.

Quilter's Guild to meet

The Quilters' Guild of East Texas meets on the second Thursday of each month at Pollard United Methodist Church. Fellowship starts with coffee and goodies at 9:30 a.m. Night meetings are also held on the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at Pollard United Methodist Church.

WH Recycle Center

Regular hours of operation for the Whitehouse Recycle Center are on Wednesdays from 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. as well as the first and third Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Ave.

Sports Activities

TYA board election

The Troup Youth Association will have a general meeting to elect officers for the 2008-09 season on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Troup Baseball Complex.

Wildcats season tickets

Whitehouse High School football season tickets are on sale in the Athletic Office Aug. 4-22. The packet contains tickets to six home games. The season tickets can be purchase for $30. If you have any questions, call 839-5538 or see www.whitehouseisd.org.

Government Activities

Troup trustees to meet

Troup ISD trustees meet Monday, Aug. 11 at 6:30 at the Troup ISD Administration Office at 201 N. Carolina. The board will meet at 6 p.m. for a budget workshop.

WISD trustees to meet

The Whitehouse ISD trustees will meet on Monday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Wildcat Drive Annex, 109 Wildcat Drive. This meeting will include a budget workshop.

Troup City Council to meet

The regular monthly meeting of the Troup City Council is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12. The meeting will be held at the Troup ISD Administration Office at 201 N. Carolina.
