Garage sale to benefit Senior Center

Friends of the Hanks Senior Center in Whitehouse will hold a benefit garage sale all day Friday, Sept. 12 and Saturday, Sept. 13 until 2 p.m. at 1901 E. Fifth St. in Tyler.

Vietnam Vets meet

WH Chamber holds ribbon cuttings

The Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting and grand opening for Waterton Plaza at Shiloh on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 5:15 p.m. and a ribbon cutting for Pro One Automotive RV and off-road sales and service on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 5:15 p.m.

Yoga class Monday

Yoga class meets each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the youth wing of First Baptist Church of Whitehouse. There is no fee for the class. Bring your own yoga mat, towel and bottle of water. There is no child care available at this time.

Mt. Carmel begins 40 Days of Community

Mt. Carmel Baptist Church begins the "40 Days of Community" on Sunday, Sept. 7. This program moves people from focusing on God's purposes in their personal lives to focusing on God's purposes in their church and community. For information on this event call 903-839-2606.

Moms in Touch

A Moms in Touch group will meet every Friday from 8:15- 9:15 a.m. at the First Baptist Church. For more information call Christa at 903-871-2684 or email christahagler223@hotmail.com. Moms in Touch is group that gathers to pray for the schools, students and teachers.

Worship services have resumed at 10495 CR 2167 (Jim Russell Rd.) for the congregation of Ambassador Baptist Church.

WHS UIL BBQ dinner on Tuesday

The WHS UIL Academic Team invites the community to a very special evening honoring and highlighting some of the school's best and brightest students. Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. the team will host their first ever Academic Team Showcase and dinner. Tickets for the event are $10/plate or $25/families of 3 or more. The Brown Elementary PTO will have their first meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. All Brown parents are invited to attend.

Government Activities

Town Center meetings continue

Whitehouse community members are urged to attend a Town Hall type meeting Monday, Sept 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 311 E. Main. The purpose of this meeting is to gain information and offer constructive input to the Town Center plan as well as zoning ordinance revisions being considered.

Troup City Council to meet

The regular monthly meeting of the Troup City Council is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16. The meeting will be held at the Troup ISD Administration Office at 201 N. Carolina.
