It was a week full of good news for the Whitehouse varsity football team this past week. First, they won their first game of the season on the previous Friday in Corsicana. Then, they received another win on Monday when Naaman Forest was forced to forfeit their week zero game due to an ineligible player. More ... Bullard quar terback Charlie Moore rushed for four touchdowns and three four more, as the Panthers claimed a road win over Troup last Friday. Despite a 20-point fourth quarter, Troup could not over come an early four touchdown lead by Bullard, and fell 53-32. More ... The deadline to sign up for the Whitehouse Youth Boys Basketball League is Nov. 8, which is also draft day. The league is for area boys age pre-K through sixth grade and will feature four divisions: pre-K/K, firstsecond grades, third-fourth grades and fifth-sixth grades. More ... The Whitehouse JV traveled to Red Oak to face the Hawks in what turned out to be a second half game for the Wildcats. The first possession by each team led to a touchdown with WH able to take the lead with the PAT kicked by Jonathan Parker in what looked to be well matched game. More ... Red Oak was ready to play scoring early in the first quarter against the Wildcat Maroon team; however, thanks to Gunnar Dorsey and AJ Minter stopping the two-point conversion attempt, they were unable to put more than six points on the board. More ... The Whitehouse eighth grade football teams played their first home games last Thursday hosting Sulphur Springs and pulled off the double dip as the "B" team defeated the visiting Wildcats 24- 0, while the "A" team won 24-6. In the "B" game, the Wildcats got on the board on their first possession as QB Deraad hit Taylor Graham on a 59-yard pass play to put the Cats up 6-0. More ... The opening play of the game set the tone for the eighth grade match-up between Troup and Bullard, as the Panthers' Corbin Howard returned the kick off for a touchdown, giving the visiting team an 8-0 lead. Howard scored two more times in the first quarter, leading Bullard to a 34-6 win last Thursday. More ... Troup's seventh grade football team evened its record at 1- 1 with a big win over Bullard last week, 30-6. The Tigers struck quickly, with Marcus Davis picking up more than 40 yards on the first play from scrimmage, advancing his team to the Bullard 30- yard line. More ... |
