Veterans fish fry set at Troup legion hall The American Legion Post in Troup invites all area veterans and their families to a free fish fry on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge meeting Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge #1371 will meet Monday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall. All Masonic Brothers are welcome to attend. Troup American Legion Auxiliary to meet Troup American Legion Auxiliary will meet Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Cameron J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library located at 102 S. Georgia. Cub Scouts collect cell phones Cub Scouts, Den 8 from Pack 359, will be collecting cell phones (working or not) for soldiers at the WH City Park on Saturday, Nov. 15, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The phones are dismantled by AT&T and then the pieces are sold. The money that comes in from the sale goes to phone cards which are given to soldiers serving around the world. Fund-raiser garage sale set The Rose Capital Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will hold a garage sale on Nov 14-15 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at 1109 East 5th.St. in Tyler. Church Activities Bazaar and bake sale set Omen Missionary Baptist Church will hold a bazaar and bake sale on Nov. 7-8 beginning at 8 a.m. Shop for gift baskets, crocheted items, flower arrangements, baked goods and gifts in a jar. The church is located on the corner of FM 345 and CR 285 in Omen. Prince of Peace classes ongoing Catholic Christianity classes continue at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Mondays, 7-8:30 p.m. The Nov. 10 class is titled "The Paschal Mystery." Business workshop offered Tyler Simpson of Whitehouse will offer Business by the Book, a one-day workshop that will teach businesspeople in all walks of life how to conduct business according to proven biblical principles. The workshop is set for Saturday, Nov. 15, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Whitehouse. The $20 fee includes a workbook and lunch. FBC Mixon holds garage/bake sale The Women of Mixon Ministries will have a church-wide garage sale and bake sale on Nov. 14-15 at the First Baptist Church of Mixon, FM 177 at CR 3052 N (Mixon cut-off). POPSTOCK rescheduled POPSTOCK music festival has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15, 5-9:30 p.m. at the new Prince of Peace location in front of Whitehouse High School on FM 346. There will be bands playing on two stages and free hot dogs. Tickets are on sale now for $8. Sports Activities WH golf boosters hold fundraisers Help out the golf team by purchasing a Chick-fil-a calendar at Brookshires on Saturday, Nov. 8, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for $5. On Monday, Nov. 10, 5-9 a.m., dine at either Chick-fil-a location and tell them you are supporting the golf boosters and proceeds will go to the club. School Activities Cain Elem. hosts Veterans Day Program Cain Elementary School will have a Veterans Day Program at 9:30 on Tuesday, Nov. 11 in the cafeteria. U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert will be the guest speaker. All veterans are invited to attend. TMS cookie dough pick up date set Troup Middle School's cookie dough orders will be in Nov. 12. The school will be open until 6:30 for orders to be picked up. Parents, please make arrangements to have your child's cookie dough picked up that day. Government Activities Troup trustees to meet Troup ISD trustees meet Monday, Nov. 10 at 6:30 at the Troup ISD Administration Office at 201 N. Carolina. Troup City Council to meet The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Troup City Council is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11.
