Mason picks up honors in tourney Kayla Mason picked up All Tournament honors as the Whitehouse Ladycats went 1-2 in the Copperas Cove Tournament Dec. 27-29. "This was a good effort considering we were short-handed because of injuries and sickness," said head coach Willie Hill. "These young ladies fought until the end." The Ladycats picked up a win over Killeen, 49-43, while losing to Victoria Memorial, 46-41, and Jim Ned, 48-44. Mason hit four 3-pointers in the win (finishing with 21 points), while Alicia Cordova had a game-high 21 in the loss to Memorial. Caroline Perrier led the way against Jim Ned, tallying 17 points, followed by Cordova's 13 and Mason's 10. Mason, Cordova and Perrier have been the team's leading scorers as the Ladycats have built a 17-8 season record. The Ladycats will be on the road tomorrow, facing Pine Tree in a district game. |
