WH arson case sentencing Jan. 14

Deborah Owens, who was arrested July 19 and charged with arson in the burning of the home of Bobby Whisenhunt on May 5, is scheduled to face a jury on Jan. 14.

She was the number one suspect in this case from the beginning, according to Detective Mary Pyle of the Whitehouse Police Department.

"Deborah Owens pled guilty to the arson," said Pyle. "But then requested a jury for the punishment phase."
