Kaye Spiva
Mrs. Spiva died Jan. 4 in a Bryan hospital. She was born Oct. 25, 1924 in Binghamton, N.Y., to the late George and Bertha Seaman Kaminsky. She had been a resident of Iola since 1985. Mrs. Spiva was a former disk jockey, bowling instructor, artist and sculptor. She also did embroidery and crochet. Mrs. Spiva was also a U.S. Army Veteran and was a Catholic. Mrs. Spiva married Troup native Bruce Spiva in February 1946. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, longtime Troup residents Leroy and Evelyn Spiva. Survivors include her husband of almost 62 years, Bruce E. Spiva, Iola; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Leon and Eleana Gordon, Houston, and Gerald Gordon, Iola; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
