Ralph L. Dyess

Services for Ralph L. Dyess, 80, of Tyler were held Jan. 8 at Cottle Funeral Home chapel, Troup, with John Karl and the Rev. Chris Farrell officiating. Burial was in Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mr. Dyess died Jan. 5, 2008, in a Lewisville hospital.

He was born Feb. 6, 1927 in Lubbock to the late J.L. and Peggy Jackson Dyess. He graduated from University of Texas at Austin, and was owner of a Tyler rose business most of his working life. After retiring, he taught at Tyler Junior College for more than 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Ruth Morris Dyess in 1999, and brother Bruce Dyess.

Survivors include daughters, Diana Jones, Hickory Creek, and Debbie Karl, Dallas; bother, Jim Dyess, Burnett; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
