Vietnam Vets meet

Keep Whitehouse Beautiful meets

Keep Whitehouse Beautiful will meet Friday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall at WH Assembly of God. The public is invited.

Foster Care meeting

Woody Edmiston of Arrow Child and Family Ministries will present a short program on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and answer questions about foster care and adoption. The program is free with a request that registration be done by calling the church at 903-561-0445. Whitehouse library activities

WH Recycle Center

Regular hours of operation for the Whitehouse Recycle Center are on Wednesdays from 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. as well as the first and third Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Ave.

VFW Post 1799 open daily

VFW Post 1799 on Rhone Quarter Road opens daily at 2:30 p.m. for members and guests. Each day offers a different activity such as competitive pool, karaoke and social hour. For information visit WWW.vfw1799.org or call 903-561-3501.

Church Activities

Gateway Baptist parenting classes

Gateway Baptist Church will offer parenting classes beginning Jan. 6. The series will meet each Sunday night 6-7 p.m. through March. The $10 book will be the only cost of the classes. Contact 903-839-7171 for more information.

School Activities

Higgins/Holloway PTA meets

A General Meeting of the Higgins/Holloway PTA will be held Monday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. at Higgins Intermediate School. Guest speaker will be Pat Millican, Texas PTA Board of Directors. She will explain the process of renaming and creation of new PTAs with the realignment of grades in WISD beginning with 2008 school year. Also an update on the Higgins/Holloway PTA will be given. All members are urged to attend.

The Whitehouse Athletic Booster Club will meet Monday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. in the WHS commons area.

Whitehouse City Council will meet Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. in the Whitehouse City Council and Court chambers at 311 E. Main.
