Duckie day celebrated at Whitehouse library

These young ladies brought their favorite duckies to the Rubber Duckie birthday party held Saturday at the Whitehouse Community Library.
Saturday rang with quacks and happy laughter at the Whitehouse Community Library. Why you ask? It was a birthday party for Rubber Duckie.

The lovable yellow toy claims Jan. 13, 1870 as its birthday. The day was a repetition of last year's cold wet day- a good day for duckies but not people. Duckies dressed as swimmers, firefighters, Hawaiian duckies, a red devil, an Elvis impersonator, a mummy and just plain feminine pink and white duckies attended the gala event.

Refreshments included a gorgeous cake with blue icing and little yellow plastic ducks swimming in it and blue punch. Everything was appropriate for a rubber duckie party.

Winners included Macey Maxwell with the Best Hair (Elvis impersonator), Erin Bruns for the Most Owies (the mummy duckie), Olivia Ayers for Best Prepared Duckie (Firefighter), Phillip Ayers for Best Eyes (Crossed eyed Duckie).
