Foster parent meeting Jan. 24

Every year thousands of children in Texas are removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. These children are frightened and alone, and need loving foster families to care for them, and help them through this time in their lives.

Hundreds of these children will not return to their families and will need a permanent home. These children range in age from birth through 18 years.

"If you have a love for children and would like to hear more information about how you can get involved, I dare you to attend," said Jennifer Parker, a foster parent with Arrow. "If you choose to help, you will most certainly be blessed. It is impossible to change the life of a child, without being changed yourself."

Woody Edmiston of Arrow Child and Family Ministries will present a short program on Jan. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and answer questions about foster care and adoption. The program is free; register by calling the church at 903-561-0445.
