Marshall 67

Third-ranked Whitehouse remained unbeaten in district play with the win.

Jacob Holmen led the offensive attack with 30 points and Cade Clark added 22 points for the Wildcats (19-1, 6-0).

Troup Lady Tigers 46,

Arp Lady Tigers 44

Troup's varsity girls survived a fourth-quarter Arp comeback effort for a crucial district win.

The Troup Lady Tigers move to 5-3 with the victory.

The teams traded points in the first half with Arp holding a slim lead at half, 22-18.

The momentum shifted after the break, as Troup outgunned Arp 17-3 in the third for a 35-25 lead heading into the fourth.

Arp's Lady Tigers chipped away at Troup's 10-point lead to draw within one with just over a minute to play.

Janna Ross led her teammates with 14 points, followed by Niecy Stewart with 11 and Casey Smith with 8.

Smith scored all her points in the second half as she and Stewart played well down the wire to preserve the win.

Lauren Fite and Pockett Clark added 4 points each.

Arp 83, Troup 45

Arp's speed and outside shooting proved too much for the Tigers to handle. Arp improves to 6-0 with the win, while Troup drops to 2-4 in district play.

Reginald Wade and Der'Rick Thompson both scored 11 for Troup.

Nick Reeves added 9, including two from long-distance, followed by Jake Johnson, Cody Lepelley and Charlie Ralph with 4 each and Jeremy Richardson with 2 each.

In the JV contest, Arp defeated Troup 57-35.

Troup travels to Waskom Friday with the varsity scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Ladycats 62,

Lady Mavs 36

Building from a 21-9 first quarter margin, the Ladycats kept the pressure on Marshall all night to earn the district win.

Whitehouse moves to 5-3 in district and 20-8 on the year.

"We are starting and finishing off games the way we are supposed to," said head coach Willie Hill. "It looks as if we are jelling again at the right time to end the district race strong."

Alicia Cordova led all scorers with 15 points, followed by Caroline Perrier with 13 and Kayla Mason with 11.

Cordova also had 17 rebounds and 5 steals.

WHITEHOUSE - Haylee Aldredge, 6; Shelly Williams, 7; Jordan Knight, 4; Regan Hawkins, 3; Shante Thomas, 3.

The Ladycat JV won 44-35 and the freshmen 47-22.

Whitehouse travels to Nacogdoches Friday.
