Girls blank Marshall

The Ladycats opened their first home game of the season Tuesday night at Wildcat Stadium.

Only two minutes into the game, Kelli Hill scored her team's first goal unassisted.

She was shortly followed by a Lindsay Pritchard goal assisted by Kayla Melton.

Heather Lofties tapped the ball in when Brittany Gonzales kicked it in front of the goal. Lofties also had a header off a Mallory Smith shot on goal.

The final score of the first half earned Lofties a hat trick on a PK kick after being knocked down in the box by Marshall. The half ended with the Ladycats leading 5-0.

The second half started with Melton assisting Pritchard with the first score of the second half.

Other scores were Lofties assisted by Cassandra Canova , Smith assisted by Gonzales, Elyssa Parker assisted by Pritchard and Gonzales assisted by Misty Priest.

With balanced scoring, the Ladycats secured a strong district opener, 10-0.

Whitehouse is 4-1 overall and will play Kilgore at Kilgore Friday night at 7:30.
