Henderson falls in early scrimmage

Photo/Jim Jackson Whitehouse suffered its first loss of the year to Pine Tree in the Lady Pirates tournament, finishing in third place.
The varsity Ladycat soccer team opened their season on Jan. 8 with a win over Henderson.

The first score was made early in the game with a breakaway by Lindsey Pritchard.

The girls continued to dominate and maintained play on the Henderson end of the field throughout the rest of the first half. Pritchard scored a second goal off a penalty kick that was taken by Brittany Millican to end the half with a 2-0 score.

The second half started with Whitehouse continuing to knock on the Henderson goal with 11 kicks on goal to Henderson's four. Late in the game, Maddie Phoenix from Henderson placed a beautiful kick deep into the box.

Despite the score, Whitehouse earned a decisive 2-1 win to start the year.
