Camp Tyler seeks volunteers for Earth Day events With Earth Day East Texas only months away, the Camp Tyler Foundation is searching for area residents to serve on event planning committees, and Earth-friendly businesses and organizations to participate as exhibitors. "Earth Day East Texas is a great opportunity for ordinary people and organizations to get involved with their community, and what better event than one inspiring awareness and appreciation for the environment," said Alan Byboth, executive director of the Camp Tyler Foundation. Volunteer committee members will actively contribute to the planning of Earth Day East Texas by participating in an education, exhibits, entertainment, site, or marketing committee. Earth-friendly business and organizations are invited to participate in Earth Day by conducting exhibits of products, services, or activities contributing to a safer, cleaner environment. Earth Day East Texas is an annual event held at Camp Tyler to celebrate Texas's natural heritage, while educating the public about being good stewards of their environment, and includes activities like live music performances, educational games, hayrides, nature walks, and gardening demonstrations. For more information on committee volunteering or conducting an exhibit, contact Alan Byboth at (903) 262-1269 or email alan@camptyler.org.
