Maudie Dickson Jones

Services for Maudie Dickson Jones, 90, of Troup were held Jan. 19 at Troup Church of Christ with Ashley Hembree and Ka'Sime Davenport officiating.

Burial was in Pinecrest Cemetery, Troup, under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Mrs. Jones died Jan. 15, 2008 at a Tyler hospice.

She was born March 22, 1917 in New Summerfield to the late Charles H. and Nina Hogan Dickson.

She retired as a bookkeeper from Singer Manufacturing Co. in 1990, having worked in Houston, Longview and Dallas. She lived in Troup for six years and was a member of Troup Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by brothers, twin Claudie Dickson, Elzie Dickson, Alvin Dickson, W.K. Dickson and Leonard Dickson, and sister, Hattie Breedlove.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Nephews served as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers were Robert Johnson, C.A. Wilkinson, Larkey Thompson and R.J. Roddy.
